Pro Bono Services for Our Unhoused Neighbors

We provide compassionate
companionship and practical guidance

through the end-of-life process,
serving individuals from
all
walks of life
across New York City.

All’s Well serves both the privileged as well as those in need, connecting our neighbors in a city where disparity is the unfortunate norm.

By offering bespoke services to our Patrons, we are able to divert fees and fund our work with Beneficiaries who are also in need but unable to afford care at this crucial moment. No one should have to die alone.

Our Beneficiaries receive discounted or free services thanks to the support of the Patrons who pay for our services. They receive the very same attention, companionship, time, effort and care.

Rich or Poor, Death Comes
For Us All

New York City has one of the greatest concentrations of diversity, wealth and need the world has ever seen – a beautiful, yet dissonant asymmetry is evident everywhere you look.

All’s Well is privileged to serve individuals in a wide variety of circumstances, from the wealthy to those in great need.

We serve clients who may have had very different experiences throughout their lives, but are united in the experience of facing life’s end.

Partnership with The Pathways Program

All’s Well Has a Weekly Presence at a Drop-In-Center on NYC’ Upper West Side

Since 2019 we have joined All Angel’s Church every Tuesday and Thursday to care for some of our neighbors who face the struggles associated with being unhoused in NYC.

Like many city and government programs, there are gaps that we would be arrogant to think we can fill, but we can accompany some of our neighbors in navigating those moments, particulary those that pop up at the end-of-life.

The Proxy Project

Practically and Pragmatically, All Angel’s Church provides identification cards to their guests free of charge.

A simple identification, tying a person to a community in times of desperation, can keep them connected. And in the event, that someone ends up in a hospital and is not able to speak for themselves. A simple QR code will lead emergency responders or hospital staff to a Health Care Proxy form.

This program provides a practical and real tool, but in offering that tool, it also opens a path to real and necessary conversations around end of life, allowing people to make their wishes known.

By 2030, projections indicate that the number of people aged 65 and older will outnumber those under 18 in the United States. As our population ages, we find ourselves increasingly unfamiliar with how to thoughtfully engage with mortality—both personally and within our communities.

Older adults experiencing homelessness often exhibit medical needs and geriatric conditions typically seen in housed individuals who are 20 years their senior.

Through a partnership between All’s Well Initiative and All Angels’ Church Pathways program, the Health Care ‘Proxy Project’ creates space for meaningful conversations about end-of-life care—offering community members both a sense of agency and the possibility of enduring relational connection.

The ‘Proxy Project’ supports Pathways’ guests to understand and complete the Health Care Proxy form—a legal document that allows you to name someone to make medical decisions for you if you are unable to speak for yourself.

The Proxy Project is part of All’s Well Initiative’s broader mission to provide preparation and accompaniment to people in the last part of life’s journey–– strengthening relational connection now for when it is needed most.

“Within an environment of respite and trust provided by Pathways, conversations about the Health Care Proxy form are thriving. Many guests have welcomed the opportunity to think together over who ‘their person’ would be and complete the paperwork. We capture the completed form as a QR code on the back of a client’s All Angels’ ID, increasing its effectiveness. Talking about these things before a crisis provides a sense of agency and peace of mind to clients, and encourages them to be further connected in their communities”.

Our business model is built to benefit the unhoused by utilizing the fees from paying clients to offset voluntary hours with those who cannot afford an End of Life Doula.

Monetary Donations are graciously accepted, but not the only form of support. You can always support our mission by volunteering your time as an EOL Doula or contributing a donation that can help pay Doulas for their time serving those who cannot afford it.

Alls Well is not yet a 501c3. Your donation is not currently tax deductible today.

If you are interested, willing andable to make a substantial donation toward our work, please reach out to us to chat about some Not-For-Profit organizations we partner with that can receive your donations and direct those funds to our services.
